We have addressed several bugs that have been reported or we have encountered with FCCdata.org.
Some amateur radio listings are returning error messages.
Amateur radio listings that are looked up in FCCdata for the first time make a call to the Google Maps API in order to geocode the location. The geocode data is then cached at REC until it is queried again and the address has changed.
Root cause was determined to be that some ULS records included a '#' symbol in the address. This is a symbol that normally needs to be converted into URL encoding before it is passed to an API. The use of the symbol is not necessary when making calls to Google Maps. We will suppress the '#' symbol from addresses before passing them to Google's API.
Mobile: Using the "Stations Near Me" and "What's That Tower?" are returning error messages.
This functionality works only when the mobile device has received location services in the web browser. We have made some changes where instead of an error message, the user would receive a message to advise that they must have Location Services enabled in order to use this functionality.
Mobile: FM maps appear off-center
System40 conversion related issue during the transition to the new platform. FM maps on mobile devices should now appear centered. Also, extended the map width from 300 to 325 pixels. Similar fixes were made to AM and may gradually find their way to over maps in the future. OpenLayers presentations only (since Google Maps is not yet supported on mobile, but we are looking at a potential enhancement for this).
