MB releases decision on one of the "Charlottesville 5" LPFM stations accused of multiple ownership, commercial advertising, etc.

By admin | 4:36 PM EDT, Mon September 30, 2024

The Media Bureau of the Federal Communications Commission has reached what is believed to be the first in up to three decisions on the LPFM stations that would eventually be referred to as the “Charlottesville 5”.

The Charlottesville 5 stations included WREN-LP, WXRK-LP, WVAI-LP and WPVC-LP, all licensed to Charlottesville, VA; as well as WKMZ-LP, Ruckersville, VA.  The licenses of WPVC-LP and WKMZ-LP would be subsequently cancelled and therefore, only three of the stations remain today.

Michelle Bradley Statement: 2024 Grassroots Radio Conference

By admin | 8:06 AM EDT, Thu September 26, 2024

Good morning from Riverton.

This evening, the 2024 Grassroots Radio Conference begins in New Orleans, LA.  Before every GRC, a lot of planning, resources and overall sweat equity goes into the creation of these gatherings.  For LPFM, the GRC represents a gathering of like minded people where unlike NABSHOW, is not overwhelming with other technologies or NFCB, does not break the bank.
